Along with the new electro punk sound to emerge from Brooklyn last decade came a fresh, electrified look. Recently named one of the “Most Stylish New Yorkers,” Christian Joy not only costumed ’00s New York icons like Yeah Yeah Yeah’s singer Karen O, she unwittingly dressed a thousand Japanese party girls for their nighttime revelries. Joy’s show of fashions and canvasses—a pun on the Philip K. Dick science fiction novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?—also provides a chance for fans to pick up hand-made T-shirts, bean bag chairs and other limited edition goods.
