Recently opened Filbert Steps is a self-professed “coffee-geek friendly” café, and make no mistake; they put in the effort to make a connoisseur feel at home. Adventurers can boost experience points by choosing from a variety of beans and brewing methods (standard drip, French press and Chemex), making a different cup o’ Joe with each visit. For complete newbies, there is the Filly Blend (¥300, hot), homemade lemonade (¥400 hot/¥480 ice), and a selection of baked goods, including big muffin cakes (¥380) and scones (¥250) to help increase your energy levels. The Espresso Shakerato (¥450), however, should be reserved for seasoned explorers, as the fragrant double-shot espresso with vanilla essence carries quite a kick. Equip yourself with the shop’s original mug cup (¥1,260) or tote bag (¥980) for extra dexterity points on quests beyond shop boundaries.
