Soft cream is splurging through the streets of Omotesando courtesy of US giant Mister Softee. And in the tradition of Wendy’s, its Japanese incarnation is markedly more upscale than its humble presence Stateside. The first one opened last month, partnered with Café Siry, in Gyre shopping center (B1, 5-10-1 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku), and the second is slated soon for Sangenjaya. Varieties (from ¥350) include vanilla, blueberry, frosted flakes, etc., alongside out-there options like matcha magic with suppon hachimitsu (softshell turtle in honey). The latter’s famed collagen boost to the skin is sure to make it a hit among the Louis Vuitton-toting ladies of the neighborhood.
