Take Outbreak, mate it with Road Warrior, toss in a little Gladiator, and season to taste with a dash of Escape from New York or maybe I Am Legend, leach out any residual originality, and this is what you’ll be having for dinner theater. A virus wipes out Scotland’s population and the country is quarantined. But signs of life 30 years later suggest survivors and therefore a cure, and it’s up to kick-ass heroine Rhona Mitra to go in there and check it out, etc., etc. Thin plot(s), choppy MTV editing, crappy acting. Surprising that director Neil Marshall’s previous effort was the subtle horror flick The Descent.
