Rock in Japan Festival 2026
Sep 12, 2026 at 8:30am ~ Sep 21, 2026 at 8:15am
Rock in Japan Festival opens its gates at Soga Sports Park in Chiba City for five days this September, split across two weekends: September 12-13, then September 19-21. Now one of the country’s largest homegrown rock festivals, this year brings in 115 artists across the GRASS STAGE, HILLSIDE STAGE, LAKE STAGE, and several others scattered around the grounds, so overlapping sets are part of the deal — pick your priorities before the day starts, since getting from the LAKE STAGE back to the main field eats up more time than a typical festival walk.
The lineup leans into the full breadth of Japanese rock and pop rather than sticking to one lane. Guitar acts like Alexandros, CreepHyp, Sambomaster and Saucy Dog share the schedule with Creepy Nuts, Vaundy, BUMP OF CHICKEN and idol-leaning groups such as JO1, Number_i, and ANGERME, plus an opening DJ set from Kazu each day. Doors open at 8:30am, with performances running from 11:45am to around 8:15pm.
Getting there is easy from central Tokyo: take the JR Keiyo Line to Soga Station and walk about eight minutes, or catch one of the free shuttle buses from Soga, Chiba, Chiba Minato, or Chibadera stations. One-day tickets start around ¥16,000, with multi-day passes running up to ¥55,000 for all five days.
Tickets and the full day-by-day schedule roll out in stages through the official J-Fes app and rijfes.jp, worth checking again as September nears since set times keep shifting.
