The mutual love between Fuji Rock fixture G Love and Japan is such that, at this year’s festival, he even extemporaneously composed a rap extolling the country. The roots rocker, surfer, hip-hopper, guitarist and harmonica player returns for his first solo tour of Japan next weekend. This time the Philly boy brings with him his new disc Fixin’ to Die, an uncharacteristically understated outing of rearranged traditionals, a classic cover, and a bucketload of G. Love originals.
