You know the times most certainly are a-changin’ when Japan’s industrial powerhouses are not the traditional electrical giants like Panasonic and Toshiba, but game-loving upstarts such as Nintendo and Bandai.

A recent smart-headed report from Tokyo-based Eurotechnology Japan points out that the nation’s 19 traditionally powerful electrics firms were just smacked upside the head by a mere nine game companies in the net annual income charts.

While the likes of Sony bestride both sectors, it’s pretty clear that the old-school guys have a heck of a meal on their collective plate if they’re to turn things around anytime soon.
