Shonan-based Torifune butoh company celebrates two decades of its own, uniquely inclusive take on the unusual Japanese dance form. Founded in 1991 by dancer Kayo Mikami and director Yukio Mikami, Torifune includes amateurs—even delinquents—in its performances. Gangio Gangioma –Showa Enka Shu– is the first major butoh work to debut after 3/11, and includes a number of high-profile guest dancers such as Yoshito Ohno, one of butoh’s first stars. Music is provided by longtime Torifune collaborator, renowned avant-garde composer J. A. Caesar.

Space Zero, Nov 2-3 (listing).
