I Don’t Know How She Does It

Vacuous feature-length sitcom

A shrill and not entirely likable Sarah Jessica Parker plays a supposedly endearing finance-industry up-and-comer trying to juggle career and mother/wifehood (stop and smell the diapers?) in this vacuous feature-length sitcom. Though vastly different in subject matter from Sex and the City (in fairness, it does try to raise some valid working-mom issues), it’s presented in such a disconcertingly similar tone – breezy voiceovers by Carrie, sorry, Jessica; faux-doc talking heads; soliloquies to the camera – that I was saying to myself, “I don’t know why she did it.” Bright spot: Olivia Munn.
