Embarrassment of alt music riches

With SonarSound going on at the same time as domestic fest Kaikoo, alternative music heads have an embarrassment of riches to choose from next weekend. Produced by hip-hop turntablist DJ Baku’s Pop Group since 2005, Kaikoo is perhaps the coolest domestic music fest around, with this year’s bill running from indie rock wunderkind Shugo Tokumaru to dubstepper Goth-Trad on to noiseniks Melt-Banana and Wrench. Pop Group is also dipping its feat in international waters, with electronic music heavyweights Luke Vibert and Q-bert on the bill.
