Hello Kitty and nude photography may not be an obvious match, but celebrity lensman Leslie Kee believes that combining the two “should give off a revolutionary vibe.” Kee’s new project, the result of 16 months of work, features not only the rich and fabulous but also friends, coworkers and confidants—all of them Tokyoites through and through. Born in Singapore but enamored of Japan since working in a Japanese factory after he was orphaned at 13, Kee is one of the country’s leading fashion, advertising and music photographers. He is also known for his charitable work—“Super Tokyo” will benefit mothers worldwide through the UN’s Safe Motherhood Initiatives campaign.
