Mao Inoue (My Darling Is a Foreigner), 23, will star in next year’s NHK “morning drama” series. Ohisama tells the story of a soba noodle maker in Nagano during World War II. NHK’s asa-dora have launched the careers of many an up-and-coming actress, but ratings have been down in recent years. “I’m actually very nervous about it because I had always dreamed of being in this program,” Inoue told reporters. “When I finished reading the script, I was bawling over the sad story. At that point, I knew I really wanted to be part of the cast.” Ohisama will run from March to September 2011.
