I don’t know how you did it and do what you do but the reason why I always read your horoscope is because it is my guide to knowing what is going on and what will happen this week. Cathryn Moe you have helped me through out this years and a simple “thank you” cannot describe it all. A gazillion thank yous from the bottom of my heart! FREEBASING
Regarding “Getting Off Base” (The Last Word, Sep 27): I find this to be very funny since I was just stationed there [at the US Navy Base in Yokosuka] and I am a Japanese-American who had been to Japan before (to Yokosuka even but that was because I have a friend there) and speak enough Japanese to blend in. It was like I got to sneak around and pretend all day. It was always funny to me to walk into a conbini by myself and be treated as a Japanese, and then walk in later that day with some Caucasian friends and be treated as an American. As strange as they were, I really miss those days…—CTO
DECA-DON’T
Regarding “Tokyo Decadance” (Clubbing, Oct 1): Another foreigner falling out of love with Japan… Check out the pics of this party, not quite as exciting as he would lead us to believe. More like a bit of warpaint on some mature ladies.—fresh oats
CARNAL
Regarding “Meat” (Bites, Sep 24): I tried both of these restaurants, and they were great. [Restaurant] Ro to Matagi’s samgyeopsal-esque grill of deer and inobuta (boar/pig hybrid) was delicious, and [restaurant] Nikuzushi’s basashi tasted almost like maguro.—Kyle Hedlund
TYPHOON TALES
We asked you how you dealt with the recent heavy weather…
At Kinoshita Circus we canceled shows and had to take the tent halfway down yesterday. This morning—in the tent was a giant swimming pool! Today everyone is working together to put it back up and get ready for shows tomorrow. The feeling of a 100 people hustling around doing whatever they can to help and hearing six languages spoken creates such amazing chaotic energy.—Jessi Hoffschildt
I got a day off today.—Gabriel Blanchfield
My house was blown to a nicer plot of land… I am very happy now.—Paul Stevens
I had to take a cab home, wasn’t pleased—@amz_harajuku
