Since establishing his Karas company in Paris in the ’80s, contemporary dance choreographer Saburo Teshigawara has forged a reputation for esthetically striking work that builds on his background in both ballet and the plastic arts. As with his previous piece at the NNTT, Double Silence, Mirror and Music promises to explore metaphysical issues. Teshigawara, who was involved with everything from the choreography to the staging to the score, notes that both mirrors and music are simultaneously tangible and intangible.
