The year is still young, but veteran post-rockers Mogwai have already produced what might be the best album title of 2011. Moniker aside, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will is actually one of the Scottish quintet’s most luscious LPs to date, turning down the guitar distortion in favor of gauzy synthesizers and Krautrock rhythms that occasionally recall Yo La Tengo. But if their recorded output is a little easier on the ears these days, the same can’t be said of the band’s live shows. Tickets for the one-off “An Experience With Mogwai” event at Liquidroom on February 2 have already sold out, but noise-worshippers in search of a good bit of ear-bleed can get their fill at an extra gig scheduled the following evening.
