With the rise of the everyman digital photographer it isn’t easy being a pro lensman anymore. The latest MOMAT photo show looks at the various resourceful ways Japanese professional photographers try to differentiate themselves. Shinya Arimoto, for example, launched his own gallery, while other lensmen publish their own books. Also among the artists highlighted in the show is Fukushima resident Shuhei Motoyama, who has documented his hometown for many years.

The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, through July 29 (listing).
