Chuo line hotspot Kichijoji is something of a mecca for diners and drinkers on a budget. With so many establishments crammed into the area, it can be hard to know where to start. The Gurume Bar Project is encouraging Tokyoites to explore Kichijoji with an upcoming event October 29-31. Hungry participants can go online to register and reserve a set of tickets (¥2,600 for 3/¥3,200 for 4). They come with a map of the 27 participating bars and restaurants, where one ticket can be exchanged for a drink and a signature dish or two drinks before moving on to the next spot. With no table charges, it’s a Tokyo bar crawl made affordable. How else can you try loco moco, pancakes, goose liver paté and oden all on the same night?
