Located in Shibuya’s Mark City, Le Sun Palm (1F Shibuya Mark City West 1-12-1 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku. Nearest stn: Shibuya. Tel: 03-6416-0417) has a diverse cosmopolitan menu that goes above and beyond the usual café. Operating under the theme “fast French,” this small eatery serves gastronomie a la francaise in a casual setting. Salads (from ¥680) with meat and veggies piled on, sandwiches (from ¥480) bursting with salmon and avocado or pate de campagne, and pancakes (from ¥630) served with banana caramel toppings. A bit on the decadent side are smoothies bursting with fresh fruit and topped with soft-serve ice cream. Offerings are reasonably priced considering the portion sizes, which probably explains the lines rivaling those of Mickey D’s at lunchtime. Take out? C’est bon!
