One of the pleasures of Fuji Rock Festival is discovering the little-known Latin rock bands brought to Japan by promoter Japonicus. For those who can’t make it to Naeba, Japonicus schedules its Radical Music Network Festival each year around the same time. The 2010 edition takes in everything from the ska punk of French outfit La Ruda to Spain’s Mallacan (think a Spanish Fishbone) to the stripped-down folk-reggae of Nathen Maxwell & The Original Bunny Gang (formed by Flogging Molly’s bassist). On the domestic end of the two-day extravaganza are bands like The Zoot 16, Overground Acoustic Underground and Rub-A-Dub Market.
