American “illuminated sculpture” artist Christopher M. Gaston presents a collaborative exhibition that looks forward to the fast-approaching cherry blossom season. A ceramic artist who arrived in Japan in 1990 to apprentice with local pottery masters, Gaston (aka Xenovision) creates massive ceramic columns and totems that he illuminates from inside with LEDs and neon. For “Sakurasaku” (“cherry blossoms bloom”), he is working with Tokyo-based floral artist Nichimasa Toizumi. Veteran avant-garde composer and pianist Hoppy Kamiyama will perform live at the opening event on March 9 and at a lounge party on March 12.
