Taking awesome karaoke design to the extreme, Wan Kara provides single booths for your solo singing pleasure, as well as a ladies-only section for the chicks to get down without any testosterone impeding their song choices—and make themselves up in peace in the “powder space.” The space-age style of the chain is impossibly cool, as is its retro sci-fi style website. All-you-can-drink soft drinks are available and mirrors in each room allow the practicing of dance moves. Several branches (or “ships”) include a 24-hour one in Shibuya, just by the split-street koban, costing ¥1,200 per person per three hours during the night (6pm-6am). Stick-people take note: a drum kit pit costs ¥1,200 for the first hour and ¥550 for subsequent hours.
