The Dai-ichi Hotel (1-2-6 Shimbashi, Minato-ku; www.daiichihotel-tokyo.com) is helping diners endure the stifling heat with some cool summer sushi deals. The Matsuri Bara-Chirashi (pictured) is a kaiseki-inspired set featuring a sushi rice bowl, sashimi, fruit and a trio of other dishes. It’s available at dinner for ¥6,000, or in a lighter version at lunch for ¥3,500. Meanwhile, the Natsu no Sakana (“summer snack”) to Nigiri Sushi dinner features a platter of edomae sushi with appetizers of sashimi and a “small dish,” plus soup and seasonal fruit (¥5,500). Both meals are available at the Dai-ichi Hotel’s classy Ichizushi restaurant (03-3501-4411).
