Eminent American photographer Elliot Erwitt is the man behind many iconic images of the 20th century, including portraits of famous figures such as Marilyn Monroe and images of 1950s New York. But he is also renowned for capturing the absurd scenes of everyday life, earning him fans across the world. In a career spanning seven decades, Erwitt has recently been creating satirical works in color under his alter ego, André S. Solidor (ASS). Erwitt’s other identity explores the excesses of contemporary art. For the first time, works by “The André S. Solidor” are being shown in Japan.
