Geisha from Japan’s ancient capital of Kyoto and its upstart rival Tokyo face off in a rare event at the Imperial Hotel’s vast Peacock Room. Kyoto’s geisha—they’re actually called geiko and maiko—specialize in the signature dance, the Miyako Odori, while the entertainers from Tokyo will perform their own Azuma Odori. In addition to the rare chance to experience geisha from Kyoto and Tokyo in a single evening, the show will feature a lavish French-Japanese dinner and personal, tableside greetings by the ornately costumed artists.
