How might Japanese dance company Baby Q “extend or interrupt the critiques of capitalist values advanced by butoh’s politics of movement?” Find out at professor Reginald Jackson’s lecture on the subject at Yale University on March 24—or, better yet, watch Baby Q founder Yoko Higashino herself dance solo in Tokyo. Vacuum Zone sees the winner of the prestigious Toyota Choreography Award collaborating with, among others, “dark ambient” electronic music producer Natiho Toyota, videographers Rokapenis, and found object artist Oleo.
