Expatriate French illustrator and cartoonist Vincent Lefrançois is the subject of an exhibition at the French Institute. Lefrançois is a two-decade resident of Fukuoka and is best known for adapting the work of renowned Japanese manga-ka Jiro Taniguchi into French. “Vagabondages” (“Wanderings”) includes a series of classrooms that Lefrançois painted at the French Institute to forge a bond between visitors, students and the arts. The other part of the show displays his cartoon series A Wandering Mind, which ran until recently in the Asahi Weekly.
