Dubstep may be all the rage, but drum and bass is still very much alive and kicking, thank you. Drum and bass godfather Fabio will himself be kickin’ it from the DJ pulpit at Womb, which celebrates its 12th year of existence this month. A veteran of late ’80s UK pirate radio, Fabio and partner-in-crime Grooverider went on to become perhaps the most influential drum and bass DJs, pioneering the “liquid funk” style, which brought a cooler approach to DnB after the hotheaded early jungle years. Fabio these days can be heard on his long-running BBC1 radio show “Fabio and Grooverider” or behind the decks at his regular Swerve events.
