Netsky was still in diapers when the drum ‘n’ bass scene was getting going in the clubs of London. The fact that the 23-year-old is here to help veteran Japanese standard-bearer DJ Aki celebrate his birthday is a testament to the staying power of the underground dance-music sound. Signed to key UK DnB imprint Hospital Records, the Belgian found acclaim with this spring’s album Give & Take. His take on Hospital’s “liquid funk” style is to take it in a poppy direction not so far in feeling from the dubstep of Rusko et. al.
