Tokyo trainspotters will already know of Saitama’s awesome Railway Museum. “100 Years of Tokyo Transportation” at the gigantic Edo-Tokyo Museum provides another window into the city’s phenomenal 20th century explosion of railways via models, maps, posters and tickets. Timed to coincide with the 100th birthday of the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, the show takes a chronological tour from the city’s quaint early streetcars through the growth of its present spaghetti-like network of train and subway lines, and culminates by peering into the future of Tokyo transportation.
Edo-Tokyo Museum, until Aug 28 (listing).
