Following an April solidarity concert for Japan in Germany, the Bavarian State Opera arrives for a blockbuster two-week tour. Three operas are to be presented, including the political thriller Roberto Devereux, the Wagner standard Lohengrin, and a sexy, contemporary take on Strauss’s comic opera Ariadne Auf Naxos. Japanese conductor Kent Nagano will also conduct a special concert of the music of Wagner, Strauss and Brahms.
