Avant-garde cellist and sound installation artist Ben Skepper transforms Shibuya’s ancient Kono Hachiman Shrine into the setting for what promises to be an unusual concert. Japanese-Australian Skepper defies time’s passage by applying 21st-century digital sampling to classical instruments like the cello and harpsichord. The concert makes use of surround sound technology to celebrate the arrival of Skepper’s third album Inimitable, which Skepper had to stop recording midway when 3/11 interrupted progress at his Tokyo studio.
