A neurotic film director who gets visions takes a crew to Transylvania to recreate, in the same locations, an unfinished film from the ’20s about a cursed gypsy, the cast and crew of which mysteriously disappeared. Odd, mostly derivative things start happening on the set. Members of the crew go violently insane; others die progressively horrible, very graphic deaths. Too late I realized that not only was this excrescence torture porn, but worse, yet another incoherent, unforgivably gory American remake of a J-horror movie to boot. I left halfway through. Retinal preservation. Life’s too short.
