Back for another year at Tachikawa Stage Garden, FESTIVAL FRUEZINHO 2025 returns on June 14 with a genre-blurring lineup and a warm, communal vibe. A spin-off of the beloved FESTIVAL de FRUE in Shizuoka, “Fruezinho” (meaning “little FRUE” in Portuguese) marks the summer solstice with a day of boundary-pushing music, dance, and discovery.

This year’s artists include the iconic Medeski & Martin, genre-defying rock band Tortoise, and a rare Japan performance by Mônica Salmaso & André Mehmari, who will present a moving tribute to Elis & Tom. The eclectic bill also features Eiko Ishibashi, Fabiano do Nascimento, and contemporary dancer Kaho Kogure.

Doors open at 11am with performances from noon until just before 9pm. From free entry for elementary-aged kids to discounted U25 tickets, the festival is designed to be as open and welcoming as its music. With food, drinks, and art in the mix, it’s a full-sensory summer ritual in the heart of Tokyo.
