Hans Zimmer Returns to Japan September 2026

The maestro behind some of cinema’s most iconic scores is coming back, and this time, he’s taking things to the next level.

Hans Zimmer, the Academy Award-winning composer responsible for the sweeping soundscapes of Dune, Top Gun: Maverick, F1 and Blitz, has announced a return Japan performance as part of his latest world tour. Hans Zimmer Live – The Next Level comes to Yokohama’s Pia Arena MM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Zimmer’s debut Japan concert left audiences genuinely moved, and by all accounts the new production raises the bar considerably. Joined by an exceptional 19-piece band, the show weaves new electronic sound elements into his orchestral palette, backed by a purpose-built stage and lighting design.

Zimmer himself puts it plainly: he wants audiences to feel like they’re on a roller coaster. “The status quo is the greatest enemy,” he has said of his approach, “and I keep giving everything I have to break through it and create something new.” That restless ambition is exactly what has made this tour a sellout across Europe’s largest venues—and what makes the Yokohama date one of the more anticipated shows of the year.

The Japan stop opens an Asia leg that continues through Kaohsiung, Taipei, Beijing, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Singapore.
