Nick Doyle Exhibition “American Blues”

Mar 06, 2024 at 5:00pm ~ Apr 27, 2024 at 7:00pm

Perrotin Tokyo is pleased to announce “American Blues,” the first solo exhibition in Japan of New York-based artist Nick Doyle. The exhibition will be on view from March 6 to April 27, 2024. In conjunction with his solo exhibition at the gallery, Doyle will also give a solo presentation at Art Fair Tokyo 2024.

Best known for his wall-mounted sculptures made of collaged denim, Doyle examines desire, excess, and toxic masculinity by infiltrating the vocabulary of American culture and its references. In “American Blues,” Doyle presents giant denim works and eerie sculptures that highlight the dangers of nostalgia and its shifting relationship to consumerism.
