Nyan Fes 24, a market dedicated to cat-themed handmade goods, takes place Oct 11 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Taito Hall.
About 520 booths run by hobbyists, professional artisans, shops and galleries will display and sell original cat-inspired work, including crafts, illustrations, photographs and books.
The festival takes its name from nyan (the sound a cat makes in Japanese, equivalent to “meow”). Held twice a year in Asakusa, it brings together creators from across Japan who focus on cats as a subject, from first-time makers to established professionals.
Advance ticket holders can enter anytime during opening hours, while same-day tickets go on sale at the venue from 1 p.m. Children below elementary school age are admitted free.
