TELL STEP UP Challenge

Sep 10, 2021 at 12:00am ~ Oct 10, 2021 at 11:59pm

Worldwide, there has been a continuous increase in mental health issues as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with an increase of more than 500 suicides at the start of 2021 compared with the same period last year. Organized by TELL, a non-profit organization providing support and counseling services to Japan’s international community, the STEP UP Challenge provides a perfect opportunity to bring together friends and family to raise funds to support TELL’s commitment to addressing the country’s growing mental health care needs. From September 10th (World Suicide Prevention Day) to October 10th (World Mental Health Day), businesses, schools, community organizations, and individuals will join in walking 21,081 steps in honor of the 21.081 lives lost last year to suicide. In order to participate, simply pick a day and use your fitness tracker to challenge yourself and others to a one-day step goal of 21,081 anywhere in Japan – in the mountains, along the beach, down a country road, or in the heart of the city.
