Experience the mesmerizing music of Tinariwen, the renowned band formed by the Tuareg tribe in the Sarah Desert area of northern Mali. For over 40 years, Tinariwen has been creating groundbreaking music with their unique style known as “desert blues”.
Blending the sounds of West African music with American and British rock influences, Tinariwen has gained international acclaim over the years. Hailed as ‘music’s true rebels’ and ‘a grassroots voice of rebellion’, Tinariwen’s exceptional talent has earned them praise from artists like Robert Plant, Brian Eno, Thom Yorke, and Jack White.
In 2012, their album “Tassili” won the Grammy Award for Best World Music, and they have been nominated for this title three times. Their universal popularity has also grown since their unforgettable performances during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and a traveling festival at the MET auditorium in New York in 2017.
Now, after six years, Tinariwen is finally coming back to Japan, bringing their latest album “Amatssou” to eagerly awaiting fans.
