Online video subscription service Hulu has been in Japan just over a year now, and what better way to nestle into your winter break than with some comfort food for the soul: TV and movies from back home. They’ve recently signed a content partnership deal bringing Saturday Night Live episodes to Japan just hours after they air in the US. Other deals with HBO, BBC, Disney and other major networks means that you can indulge in full seasons or just catch up on older episodes of your favorite shows—and all without breaking any of those new Japanese downloading laws. The service is just ¥980 per month and gets you HD streaming access to your TV and any number of internet connected devices, including iPhones, iPads, iPods and Apple TVs; Android phones and tablets; PS3, XBOX 360 and Wii consoles; media servers—and even your plain Jane computer. Japanese subtitles are available for English and Korean shows, plus you can brush up on your nihongo with popular Japanese anime, movies and dramas.
