Hauling contemporary dance into the pop culture realm, all-male troupe Condors present a piece that simultaneously references 1970s Al Pacino film Dog Day Afternoon and the Three Little Pigs. With his pointed sendups of salarymen, popular spin-off rock groups and appearances on NHK’s Karada De Asobou children’s program, South American-born director Ryohei Kondo is something of a phenomenon himself. This has allowed him to attract popular actors including Akira Shirai and former gravure idol Misako Yasudo to make guest appearances in the show.
Setagaya Public Theater, Mar 23-27 (listing).
