Founded in 1985 according to the wishes of the late Princess Grace of Monaco, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, despite its youth, looks back on a rich tradition of Russian ballet in the tiny Mediterranean principality. Under the director of acclaimed choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot, the company, including principal Jerome Marchand and Japan’s Mimoza Koike, will perform works including the Arabian legend of Scheherazade—set to the symphonic suite by Rimsky-Korsakov—and the enduringly popular wartime Prokofiev work, Cinderella.
Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Mar 6-11 (listing).
