Letter to Katherine Heigl: Knocked Up was a hit, but enough with the bland rom-coms. You have shown signs you can act, but people are starting to have difficulty envisioning you as anything but a plucky blonde with a great smile in cloying, annoying fluff like this. Thank you. “Plot”: the shared best friends of a toxic jock and an uptight gourmet food shop owner die in a car accident, and, in a will that only a hack screenwriter could dream up, leave their baby girl to the two, with the proviso that they live together in their house. Like getting pandas to mate in captivity. Too long at 115 min.
