Foie gras burgers—fast food for sophisticates or fine fare in snack form? Wendy’s has been posing such questions since its big reopening (and rebranding) in Japan earlier this year, opposite Omotesando Hills. And the food for thought has obviously been appetizing, as it’s now launching a new spot in Roppongi (1-2F Street Bldg, 5-1-7 Roppongi, Minato-ku; http://wendys.co.jp). Mixing the surf ‘n’ turf without compunction, they’re offering a lobster and caviar burger for ¥1,280 to herald their grand opening August 17, though standard burgers (from ¥360) are on the menu for the salt-of-the-earth types.
