Who are the photographers taking up the mantle of great Japanese reportage lens men like Masayuki Yoshinaga and Daido Moriyama? Find out at an upcoming exhibition of prints shot by members of their Resist workshop. The group ranges in age from 23 to 65, and takes in professional photographers and hobbyists. Titling their show “Ryu” or “Reason,” their concern is to question the why and wherefore of photography. The result is a series of stark images that add up to the opposite of a tourist brochure for Japan.
