Flamenco meets metal?

Acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela honed their chops in a Mexican metal band before switching to acoustic as they busked across Europe in the early 2000s. Since their eponymous first release in 2006, their sound has evolved from acoustic metal incorporating fast flamenco rhythms, to 2012’s Area 52, recorded with a Cuban salsa orchestra. Rodrigo y Gabriela’s music is simple, and easy to appreciate. Dedication to their craft and nods to their metal influences highlight their performances, shaping up to two electrifying nights in front of an adoring Tokyo audience.
