Step through the door of Jet-Set (1-22-1 Mejirodai, Bunkyo-ku; www.jetset-cafesalon.com)—on Mejiro Street in the middle of a tranquil residential area—and emerge in a beach-town café. This English-friendly spot offers drinks (from ¥400), homemade Southern food (from ¥ 1,300), and US comfort food (from ¥400) prepared by a Florida chef. California-style hair and nail services by Rieko Nukui, the owner who trained in Long Beach, are also available by reservation. The rustic interior and the aroma are symbolic of the warm seaside spirit that flows through the venue. The laidback, cozy space also serves as a gallery and live music venue.
