After closing for six months, NTT’s ICC multimedia museum—once threatened—opens with a major installation by high-tech artist Seiko Mikami. Desire of Codes consists of 90 wall-mounted sensors and cameras and six ceiling-mounted robotic cameras monitoring viewers. At one end an insectile eye-like screen remixes the images with public images from around the world, questioning how our info-oriented environment shapes us. Any visit to ICC should include a tour of its free-to-view Open Space gallery of media art.
NTT InterCommunication Center, until Dec 18 (listing).
