The United Nations University Farmers Market in Aoyama will be especially holiday-a-licious on Sunday, December 22nd. The last Fruit Parlor event of the year, a series created to introduce seasonal fruit, will offer a somewhat limited tabehodai (all-you-can-eat) of December’s best picks. Multiple varieties of citrus will be available as will a few last kaki (persimmon) and apple, while hoshigaki (dried persimmon) are rumored to be making an appearance. Attendees will also have a chance to meet and talk with the growers while loading up on a favorite fruit for a holiday dinner or a scrumptious gift basket. The usual gang of farmers and producers will also be on hand to satisfy shoppers searching for the perfect daikon, verdant winter greens, sweet preserves, mouth-watering breads, tart pickles or other foodly delights.
