Vintage US punkers The Queers pair with some Aussie punkettes who could be their daughters for a series of shows that culminate with a tribute to Joey Ramone. Co-hosted by punk zine Vamp! and record label Inya Face, the tour sees the two bands on a lightning four-night circuit of Tokyo’s live houses, ending in a concert marking ten years since the passing of the obsessive-compulsive Ramones frontman. Formed in 1981 by “Joe Queer,” the group recorded a complete cover of the Ramones’ classic 1977 album Rocket To Russia, which stands them in good stead to celebrate Joey and perform a little teenage lobotomy.
