Nakameguro and Daikanyama have long been considered an o-share shopping hub for mamas and minions, and the recent opening of baby café and school Laughul (1-11-4 Meguro, Meguro-ku) has further cemented the area’s mama-friendly reputation. The brainchild of Hiromi Seki, a renowned “vegetable sommelier” and inner-beauty advocate, Laughul specializes in quality produce and classic takes on café meals for moms. From the lunch menu, the filling and fibrous seafood doria (¥900) includes a medley of mushrooms and multigrain rice, while the hamburger with avocado sauce (¥1,000) is designed for adults but might very well tempt the small fry too. Décor-wise, Laughul takes its cues from other baby cafés (see last year’s roundup of family-friendly eateries). The dining room features a small, tot-friendly enclosed play space and is burnished in warm tones.
